Hi! I'm Jenny. I work in a library. I'm an aspiring novelist, wanna-be ballerina, and bookworm.
Bookish.Nu is my website.

About the Author

Who are you?
My name is Jenny. I’m 22 years old.  Online, I often go by cuendillar or heartstone.

What do you do for a living?
Right now, I’m a library assistant. I graduated from Ohio State this past June with a degree in Medieval and Renaissance Studies, which I love. I’m especially interested in medival romances. Hopefully, I’ll be back in school and working on my MA sooon!

Do you like where you live?
Well, we just moved to DC – and I love it. It doesn’t feel like home yet, but I’m sure it will soon!

Where do you plan to be in five years?
That’s kind of a tough question.  I have no idea where I’ll be living, but hopefully I’ll be working on my PHD. Also, I’d like to be finished with my novel.

What do you do in your spare time?

Spare time? What’s that? Actually, I read a lot, which should come as no surprise. Also, I write and surf the internet. Most of the time I’m with my boyfriend or my friends. I also tend to spoil my baby kitty Tavi pretty rotten when I’m not studying or working or writing or hanging out, too.

Do you believe in love at first sight?
I always have, and even if I haven’t, I would now since I’ve experienced it. Eric and I met at orientation and yeah, it was pretty much love at first sight for us. We’re still going strong and just as in love now – four years later –  as we were that July. I’d say it exists.

What is your novel about?
Well, I’m working on two, currently. One, Memories of Magic, is on hold. The other is called Alerion’s Road and my little brother, Patrick (he’s 10) requested that I write him a story that included several things: pirates, magic, swords, death, kidnapping, true love, and a happily ever after. I said sure – and I’ve been working on it slowly but surely ever since.

What are some of your favorite things?
I love Eric, the Buckeyes, and the American Revolution. I love hot chocolate, chai tea, fantasy novels and murder mysteries. I love watching Bones, eating strawberries, and tomatoes from the farmer’s market. I love being in love. I love vintage clothes, handmade goods, and being creative. I love writing, taking long walks, and sitting on the Oval. I love spring quarter at Ohio State. I love flowers, courtly love (the medieval kind, not Twilight) and baby animals. I love Nancy Drew, airports, and my family. I love Henry Knox, sunshine, and indie music. I love my friends, ballet, and books. There’s a lot more I could list, but I’ll stop here.

What’s your biggest weakness?
I’m way too nice. I go out of my way to make everyone happy, sometimes at the expense of my own sanity. I really need to work on saying no more often and speaking up when I have a problem.

What bugs you more than anything?
Hatred. Isn’t that kind of ironic? I guess I’d be more correct to say intolerance. I don’t care what you believe, you have no right to force your beliefs on anyone else. Live and let live. Don’t hate someone because of their color, or religion, or sexuality. It doesn’t affect you. I don’t understand why anyone feels they have the right to interfere with anyone’s basic right to the pursuit of happiness.
